For those who bike through the Waverley/Taylor intersection, be aware that the next phase of construction on the Waverley Underpass will be starting up soon, leading to a full closure of the intersection from Friday, September 29th at 5:30 pm until Monday, October 2nd at 6:00 am.

Following that, access through the intersection will be via a new detour to the west that will affect anyone traveling on the Taylor Side Path or along the Waverley Pathway.
Waverley Underpass Detours beginning October 2nd, 2017
The biggest change will be for those who use the Taylor sidepath east of Waverley or the Waverley Pathway between Taylor and Hurst Way, as users of this pathway will be detoured to the north side of Taylor at Cambridge during construction.
Unfortunately, there is no safe crossing of Tayor at Cambridge where the detour begins/ends.To avoid crossing Taylor at Cambridge, you may want cross Taylor at Nathaniel and either take the sidewalk on the north side of Taylor or detour west through the Grant Park High School parking lot and into the Pan-Am Pool parking lot to reach Poseidon and then Ebby before connecting onto Cambridge.

Construction (and the detour) is scheduled to last until the fall of 2019 when the new underpass with pathways on both sides of Waverley linking south to Mathers will open.
