Help make cycling an easy option at events

Why Sponsor Bike Winnipeg?

Bike Winnipeg is a non profit organisation that strives to create a healthy, sustainable, and equitable city where year-round cycling is accessible to all.

At Bike Winnipeg, our activities involve advocacy, outreach, and education; we engage with citizens, community organizations and governments to improve cycling infrastructure in Winnipeg and encourage more people to choose the bicycle as a means of transportation.

Specifically, we are excited to invite you to support our social enterprise – a mobile Bicycle Valet service – which provides Winnipegers with a safe and secure place to park their wheels at events across the city; “a coat check for your bike”

Bicycle Valet encourages people to leave their cars at home and ride to local events. This reduces vehicle traffic and parking congestion in Winnipeg and promotes active transportation use.

Help make cycling an easy option at events

Your sponsorship has a meaningful impact in our city:

  • Inspiring bicycle ridership: Our education and outreach activities give new and experienced cyclists the skills, equipment, opportunities and knowledge they need to ride where and when they want.
  • Helping provide subsidized bicycle valet service to community organizations: To cover the costs of running our bicycle valet service, we generally charge event organizers to host bicycle valet. To make the service affordable to community groups, we offer a limited number of subsidized and free events. Your sponsorship helps us provide these subsidized or free events.
  • Improving Winnipeg’s cycling infrastructure: Bike Winnipeg works with the City of Winnipeg to help design a safe and well connected network of bicycle pathways to ensure that people have the confidence to ride their bikes in all types of weather.

Sponsorship Levels

Champion Sponsor – $5,000 (1 available)

Your logo (48” x 24” and/or 72” x 30”) will feature prominently on the Bicycle Valet check-in table at every event throughout the year (in the case of simultaneous events on the same day, you will feature at the primary/larger event). This check-in table is the first thing Valet users see when dropping off their bike and the last thing they see when they leave. Your logo will be visible to the 50,000+ people that pass by our bicycle valet on an annual basis

Supporter Sponsors – $1,000 (8 available)

Your organisation will join other socially and environmentally minded companies in supporting our work. Your logo (8” x 8”) will be displayed on a sandwich board placed in front of our Bicycle Valet service at every event throughout the year.

Other Sponsorship Opportunities

There are many projects Bike Winnipeg is working on that may be of interest to you to support:

Bike Valet; Bike Winnipeg’s Social Enterprise:

A mobile Bicycle Valet service – which provides event patrons with a safe and secure place to park their wheels at events across the city; “a coat check for your bike”

Bicycle Valet encourages people to leave their cars at home and ride to local events. This reduces vehicle traffic and parking congestion in Winnipeg and promotes active transportation use.

Coffee Outside:

A weekly meet-up where we gather outside, drink a bit of coffee, then get on with our day. It’s a chance to stop and enjoy the morning on our commute. It’s a great way to share the ideas, the routes, the experiences and most importantly the joy of bike life, face-to-face. We set up at probably the busiest intersection on our city’s bike network: the corner of Assiniboine Ave and Garry St, by Bonnycastle Park. How long you stop is up to you. You can smile and wave, stop and have a quick coffee and move on or hang out the entire time.

Group Rides:

Bike Winnipeg offers a variety of rides for different audiences and interests, providing opportunities to explore the city, connect with the community, and support active transportation. Here’s a glimpse of what we offer:

Garden Tours: Discover stunning gardens across Winnipeg while enjoying a leisurely bike ride, in partnership with local gardening organizations.

Community Rides: Join group rides to explore new infrastructure, learn about upcoming projects, and connect with fellow cyclists.

Partner Rides: Experience themed rides led by local experts, featuring eco-tours, cultural explorations, and more.

Family-Friendly Events: Participate in fun and inclusive rides designed for families, with activities and entertainment to cap off the day.

Whether you’re looking to discover new parts of the city, support local initiatives, or enjoy time outdoors, our rides have something for everyone!

Bike for the Future:

Monthly family rides aimed at all ages and abilities to gain the opportunity to ride in different neighbourhoods across the city while learning how to ride in a group.

Themed Rides:

Based on the popular Winnipeg Ghost Walk Tours, Bike Winnipeg has paired up with local author Matthew Komus (Haunted Winnipeg: Ghost Stories from the Heart of the Continent) for a two-wheeled tour of the downtown that promises to put more than just a little bit of fright into your night. A woman vanishing into thin air at the Hotel Fort Garry. Spirits reaching out from beyond the grave at the Pantages Theatre. Just what is happening in Winnipeg’s heritage buildings at night? Early Winnipeg was a booming city full of excitement with no shortage of murders, cheating lovers and tragic accidents; all play a role in Winnipeg’s reputation as one of Canada’s most haunted places.

Downtown Bike Parking

A secure, staffed, short to mid term bike parking located at one or two centrally located businesses such as The Forks, Canada Life Centre, Exchange District, Millennium Library, Portage Place. This project would address multiple concerns and barriers to biking expressed by the biking community such as bike theft. There would be multiple payment options such as pay-as-you-go or time dependent subscriptions.

Renter’s Cycling Skills & Encouragement Program

The goal of this program is to provide renters with basic cycling skills, knowledge of their local bike routes, bike parking in their building, and general tips on using a bike to meet your daily transportation needs. We would aim to partner with MPI and the City of Winnipeg as well as with local shops (including bike shops) to provide prizes for participants (both as incentives for the course, as well as incentives for surveys aimed at quantifying any change in behaviour). The emphasis would be on the nuts and bolts of integrating cycling into daily transportation needs. For instance, shopping by bike, equipment and gear, locking your bike, etc. Ideally we would work with landlords and property management companies to promote the course, but could also work with BIZs and community groups, or neighbourhood renewal corporations as well. We could provide customized packages to course participants as well as to the landlords and property management companies.
