Start the celebration early this year by joining in one of the new count down events leading up to Bike to Work Day! Winnipeg’s 6th annual celebration of all things cycling is fast approaching, so register now to make sure you don’t miss any of the fantastic festivities celebrating Winnipeg’s cycling culture. For each registrant, $0.25 will be donated to The WREnCH by Assiniboine Credit Union.
Monday, June 17: STUDENT DAY
9:00am-6:00pm Drop into the UWSA Bike Lab to fix up and decorate your bike.
6:00pm Prizes given to the best decorated bike.
7:00-9:00pm A group ride travels from th UWSA Bike Lab en route to Natural Cycle with some stops along the way led by the tune-pumping Party Bike!
9:00pm Jupiter Storm in concert at Natural Cycle. Tickets $5 sold in advance at Natural Cycle (91 Albert St.) or at the door.
Tuesday, June 18: EMPLOYERS DAY
12:00-1:00pm Meet at the Downtown Biz Livingroom for a workshop on how to make your workplace cycle friendly, including international examples, and the launch of Winnipeg’s first Bike Friendly Business Designation.
Stay tuned for details on a traveling dinner group ride.
Wednesday, June 19: FAMILY DAY
7:00pm-8:00pm Meet on the North Side (Portage Ave side) of the Assiniboine Park Footbridge, for a family bike decorating party and group ride through the park.
Thursday, June 20: MOVIE NIGHT
7:00pm Peg City Car Co-op hosts the first annual Bike Shorts Film Night at the University of Winnipeg’s Eckhardt-Gramatte Hall. Tickets are just $5, and admissions gives you a chance to win a pass to this year’s Winnipeg Fringe Festival, courtesy Peg City Car Coop. Tickets are available @ Music Trader, U of W Info Booth, UWSA Bikelab, or online.
Friday June 21, 2013: Bike to Work Day
Join in a Group Ride through a selection of pit stops. Ride with a trained leader to see safe cycling in action and count yourself in to make cycling count! Location and time for group ride TBA

Stop by a pit stop on your way to work and fuel up with snacks, while our pit stop hosts cheer you onwards! Bike mechanics will be available for minor repairs at all stops. For those commuters who work outside of a 9-5 schedule, come on down to the Forks from 9:00-3:30 and enjoy some treats and conversation in the sun! Tire Stewardship Mb will be on site to host you.
3:30-7:00pm
BBQ Party at the Oodena Celebration Circle at the Forks! Join the Bike to Work Day planning committee and our volunteers and indulge in a delicious BBQ, with local entertainment and a grand prize draw.
