More rides happening for Bike Week

Wednesday, June 7 – 6:30pm to 7:30pm – Kidical Mass

Join Bike Winnipeg for the first ever Kidical Mass in Winnipeg. We will be riding a safe and comfortable route  along Wellington and Wolseley. Everyone is welcome, parents/kids on bikes, kids in trailers or in seats, whatever works for you. The ride will be about 1 hour in length and will start and stop at Vimy Ridge Park, 821 Preston Ave 

Thursday, June 8 – 8:30am – Cycling with Sarah – Social Rides for Women 55+

Join Liv Ambassador Sarah Gravelle-Mackenzie for social rides that aim to encourage and support women 55+ to get out and ride their bikes. It will be a great opportunity to develop your confidence and skills while riding. This initiative is supported by Bikes and Beyond, who will provide opportunities to build your knowledge of basic bike maintenance through a workshop.

Thursday, June 8 @ 10:45 am – 1:00 pm – CFB Winnipeg Health Promotion: Bike & Learn

Join us on a ride from Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg Fitness and Recreation Centre to Fort Whyte and back.  While at Fort Whyte we will learn about and practice mindfulness.  This event is from 1100-1300 hrs on Thursday, June 8th.  Meet at the CFB Winnipeg Fitness and Recreation Centre (B90) at 1045 hrs.

Friday, June 9 @ 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm – Better Biking Lunch & Learn, presented by Downtown Winnipeg BIZ

Downtown Winnipeg BIZ invites everyone to join in the Better Biking Lunch and Learn workshop facilitated by Dave Elmore, Bike Week Chairperson & CAN-Bike trained cycling educator with over 30 years of commuting experience. This workshop will go over how to make sure your bike is ready to ride and the basics of street riding.

This workshop takes place over the lunch hour, please bring your lunch or pick up lunch from one of the many BIZ members on your way to participate. Visit HERE for some great restaurants in the downtown area.

Saturday, June 10 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Manitoba Cycling Association’s 3rd annual Tour de Glace: Family-Friendly Ice Cream Shop Bike Tour

REGISTRATION CLOSES JUNE 8 AT 10 PM!

Grab a friend and your bike, let’s go get ice cream!

The Manitoba Cycling Association is pleased to host another year of Tour de Glace, the ice cream bike tour. Registration includes a guided group ride with 2- or 3-stop options to some excellent local ice cream shops for a treat. This event is open to all, you do not need to be a member of the Manitoba Cycling Association. Families and youth are welcome to join!

Saturday, June 10 @ 2:00 pm – Women’s Theme Ride: How the Bicycle Paved the Way for Women’s Rights

Rain or shine this is a ride for cis-gendered women or anyone who identifies as female, but anyone wanting to celebrate the women in their life, are also welcome. The ride will take place mostly on multi-use paths/trails and some streets through Assiniboine Park, Charleswood, along Harte Trail and back through Assiniboine Forest to the Cargo Bar. The theme of the ride is How the Bicycle Paved the Way for Women’s Rights. 

Where: Starting at Assiniboine Park – meet on the north side of the Cargo Bar by the duck pond

A ride to demand climate justice for our children!

Join Bike Winnipeg on their second Bike for the Future ride , a family friendly ride through a variety of neighbourhoods and ending at the Bike Week Birthday Bash at the Legislature.
